Inhabitants of reef tanks require calcium for the growth of their skeletons & shells, consuming calcium and carbonate hardness from the water in large quantities, which requires replenishment. ROWA®kalk is an extremely pure form of calcium hydroxide, which dissolves in water to produce Kalkwasser, a solution which reacts further within the aquarium to produce calcium, carbonate and bicarbonate ions. The fresh solution can be used to replace part or all of the daily evaporated water into your aquarium, depending on demand, and will also increase the pH value of your water.
