Water, which is free from a yellow tint, allows light to penetrate unfiltered to the corals, plants and fish so that they can be seen in their natural colours. Tropic Marin® Carbon is a high-performance activated carbon with a high adsorption capacity for yellowing and detrimental organic compounds found in the water column. In contrast to most other forms of activated carbon, Tropic Marin activated carbon releases only minute, mostly undetectable, amounts of phosphates and silicates. A significant improvement in the clarity of the water becomes immediately apparent very soon after the start of activated carbon use. The aquarium inhabitants benefit from the improved light supply and return to their vibrant natural colours.

400 g Tropic Marin® Carbon are sufficient for 800 l of aquarium water.
Tropic Marin® Carbon can be used continuously or for a short period in a filter.
If used continuously, we recommend filtering 1% of the tank volume per hour through the activated carbon. Tropic Marin® Carbon can be used for up to 8 weeks. Alternatively, the carbon can be used as required (e.g. after medication additions) in a filter with a fast flow through, for a period of 1 to 3 days, in order to remove the harmful substances from the water.
We recommend weekly dosing of Tropic Marin ®Reef Actif for optimised coral colours, improved polyp appearance and crystal clear water.
