NYOS Active Carb

NYOS Active Carb uses an extensive porous surface to capture dissolved contaminants that cannot be removed by standard mechanical filtration. Regular use supports clear, odour-free aquarium water and limits the accumulation of organic compounds.

In reef aquariums, Active Carb also helps remove compounds released during chemical competition between corals. It is particularly useful in mixed reefs and systems containing leather corals or other soft corals.

The media can be used continuously or temporarily after medication, accidental contamination, coral propagation, or severe water yellowing.

Dosage

Continuous use

Use:

500–1,000 ml per 1,000 litres of aquarium water.

Replace the media approximately every four weeks.

Short-term use

The standard quantity can be doubled for temporary intensive filtration, such as after medication or accidental contamination. Remove the used carbon after treatment.

Instructions

1. Calculate the actual aquarium-system water volume.
2. Select continuous or temporary use.
3. Measure the required amount of Active Carb.
4. Rinse the carbon with reverse-osmosis or aquarium water.
5. Place it inside a media reactor or fine filter bag.
6. Maintain continuous water flow through the media.
7. Use gentle reactor flow without aggressive tumbling.
8. Monitor water clarity and livestock response.
9. Replace continuously used carbon after approximately four weeks.
10. Remove carbon after temporary treatment.
11. Do not use it during medication unless instructed.
12. Do not regenerate or reuse exhausted carbon.
