Black spider wood for the aquarium, about 40 to 50 centimetres.

A large piece need not be used as one object. Branching wood may be sawn into two or three parts, which then make a group – and since the limbs come of one trunk, they agree together naturally.

That is a standing method of aquascaping: a tree built of several pieces often looks more convincing than one ready piece, because the attitude of each may be chosen freely.

Saw the wood dry and soak it after.

The soaking takes four days at the least.
