Hobby Planting Basket

Hobby Planting Basket extends aquarium vegetation naturally above the water surface. Plants may be installed directly in the basket with their cleaned roots reaching the water, or the basket can be filled with aquarium gravel or another suitable inert growing medium.

The transparent construction remains discreet and allows the root system to be inspected without removing the planter. A removable divider supports smaller plants, separates their roots and reduces the risk of plants leaning or falling over.

Installation

1. Select a plant suitable for hydroponic or emersed cultivation.
2. Remove all ordinary potting soil from the roots.
3. Rinse the root system thoroughly.
4. Remove damaged or decaying roots.
5. Install the divider when two compartments are required.
6. Add rinsed aquarium gravel if additional support is needed.
7. Position the plant so that its roots extend through the openings.
8. Keep the stem, leaves and growth point above the water unless the plant is fully aquatic.
9. Hang the basket securely from the aquarium rim.
10. Keep roots away from pumps, overflows and filter intakes.
11. Monitor the plant and root system regularly.
12. Remove dead roots and clean the basket when required.
