eSHa ndx
eSHa ndx is a targeted treatment for nematodes, also known as roundworms, in aquarium fish. These internal parasites usually live in the digestive system and consume nutrients required by the fish. An untreated infection may interfere with nutrient absorption, slow growth, and gradually weaken the fish.
The treatment is suitable for controlling Camallanus, Capillaria, and Pseudocapillaria. A Camallanus infection can often be recognized by thin reddish worms protruding from the vent. Capillaria and Pseudocapillaria may be more difficult to identify because the parasites are not always externally visible.
Possible symptoms include weight loss despite continued feeding, reduced appetite, a sunken or swollen abdomen, pale stringy waste, slow growth, lethargy, and a gradual decline in general condition. The severity of the symptoms depends on the fish species, number of parasites, and duration of the infection.
eSHa ndx affects the nervous and muscular systems of the parasites. The worms become immobilized and are expelled through the digestive system. Thorough substrate cleaning during and after treatment helps remove detached parasites, waste, and other organic material from the aquarium.
The treatment is added directly to the aquarium water. Fish do not normally need to be caught or moved to a separate treatment tank, helping reduce unnecessary handling stress. Water based treatment is also useful when affected fish have stopped eating and medication cannot be delivered reliably through food.
eSHa ndx is suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums. Compatibility with every aquarium inhabitant should be checked before treatment. Sensitive marine invertebrates can be protected by treating affected fish in a separate quarantine aquarium when required.
Some stages of the parasite life cycle may not be completely affected by the first treatment. A repeat application may therefore be required. Follow the schedule in the current package instructions to help interrupt the complete parasite life cycle.
Activated carbon, zeolite, ion exchange resins, and other media capable of absorbing the treatment should be removed before dosing. Ultraviolet sterilizers, ozone generators, and similar water treatment equipment should be switched off. Mechanical and biological filtration can remain operational, and effective circulation and aeration should be maintained.

Applications
eSHa ndx may be suitable when fish show signs including:
- Reddish worms protruding from the vent
- Weight loss despite normal feeding
- Reduced or absent appetite
- A sunken abdomen
- A swollen abdomen
- Pale, slimy, or stringy waste
- Reduced growth
- Lethargy or hiding
- Gradual decline in general condition
- Reduced reproductive activity
Similar symptoms may also result from other internal parasites, bacterial infections, nutritional problems, or poor water quality. Check the essential water parameters and assess the overall condition of the fish before treatment.
Dosage and use
Always dose eSHa ndx according to the current instructions supplied with the product. Calculate the dosage using the actual aquarium water volume. Substrate, rocks, wood, decorations, and equipment reduce the amount of water inside the aquarium.
- Calculate the actual aquarium water volume.
- Vacuum the substrate before treatment.
- Remove activated carbon, zeolite, and other treatment absorbing media.
- Switch off ultraviolet sterilizers and ozone generators.
- Keep mechanical and biological filtration operating.
- Maintain effective circulation and adequate aeration.
- Shake the bottle thoroughly before use.
- Dose according to the package instructions.
- Monitor fish breathing, appetite, and behaviour.
- Remove expelled parasites and organic waste by vacuuming the substrate.
- Perform the water change stated in the instructions.
- Repeat treatment according to the recommended schedule when required.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage. Check compatibility with aquarium invertebrates before treatment. Do not combine the product with other aquarium treatments unless compatibility has been confirmed.
