eSHa OODINEX is a broad spectrum treatment for marine fish in aquariums containing corals, sea anemones, shrimp, and other invertebrates. Its wide range of action is particularly useful when the exact cause of a condition is difficult to identify or when a fish displays several symptoms at the same time.

OODINEX can be used against marine white spot, marine velvet, fungal infections, fin rot, and several other marine fish conditions. It is added directly to the aquarium water, so affected fish do not normally need to be caught or transferred to a separate treatment aquarium.

Marine white spot is caused by Cryptocaryon irritans. Typical signs include small white spots on the body and fins. Affected fish may rub against rocks, coral structures, and aquarium equipment, breathe more rapidly, hold their fins close to the body, or lose their appetite.

Marine velvet is commonly associated with Amyloodinium ocellatum. A fine pale, yellow, or golden coating may appear on the skin and can look velvet like under certain lighting. The parasite may severely affect the gills, causing rapid breathing, reduced activity, and a tendency to remain near the water surface or areas with strong circulation.

OODINEX is also suitable for fungal infections. These may appear as pale or cotton like growths on the body, fins, wounds, or other damaged areas. Fungal infections often develop as a secondary problem after the protective mucus layer has been damaged.

Fin rot may appear as ragged, pale, shortened, or inflamed fins. It may be associated with bacteria, unsuitable water quality, physical damage, or prolonged stress. OODINEX helps treat fin rot and protect affected areas against further deterioration.

The treatment may also be used when fish show signs associated with dropsy or wasting conditions. Possible symptoms include swelling, raised scales, weight loss, reduced appetite, ulcers, protruding eyes, and declining condition. These signs can have several causes, so water quality and the overall health of the fish should be assessed before treatment.

OODINEX is intended for marine aquariums containing both fish and invertebrates. If the aquarium does not contain corals, sea anemones, crustaceans, or other invertebrates, eSHa TRIMARIN may be a more suitable option because it provides an even broader treatment range.

Mechanical and biological filtration can normally remain operational during treatment. Activated carbon, zeolite, ion exchange resins, and other media that may absorb the treatment should be removed. Ultraviolet sterilizers, ozone generators, and similar water treatment equipment should be switched off.

Do not use OODINEX in aquariums containing poisonous animals. The product must not be used on animals intended for human consumption.

Dosage and use

Always dose eSHa OODINEX according to the current instructions supplied with the product. Calculate the dose using the actual aquarium water volume. Live rock, substrate, decorations, and equipment reduce the amount of water inside the aquarium.

  1. Check the temperature, salinity, pH, ammonia, and nitrite.
  2. Calculate the actual aquarium water volume.
  3. Confirm that the aquarium does not contain poisonous animals.
  4. Remove activated carbon and other treatment absorbing media.
  5. Switch off ultraviolet sterilizers and ozone generators.
  6. Keep biological filtration and water circulation operating.
  7. Maintain adequate surface movement and oxygenation.
  8. Shake the bottle thoroughly before use.
  9. Dose according to the package instructions.
  10. Monitor fish, corals, and other aquarium inhabitants during treatment.
  11. Return chemical filtration media and water treatment equipment only after treatment has finished.
