Korallen-Zucht ZEOzym Enzyme Supplement

Korallen-Zucht ZEOzym is an enzyme-based aquarium supplement designed to improve biological processes in reef systems. Its enzymes help break down complex organic compounds into smaller components that beneficial bacteria can process more efficiently.

ZEOzym is suitable for ZEOvit systems and other biologically managed marine aquariums. It can be used independently, but it is particularly effective when combined with Korallen-Zucht ZEObak.

Fish waste, uneaten food, coral mucus, and decomposing organic material continuously add organic compounds to aquarium water. Enzymes support the breakdown of these compounds and make them more accessible to the aquarium’s bacterial community.

Improved biological processing can help reduce accumulated detritus, organic films, and dissolved waste. It may also improve water clarity and overall nutrient management.

Enhances ZEObak activity

ZEOzym enhances the effect of ZEObak and supports suitable conditions for beneficial bacteria. The combination helps process organic compounds and maintain biological stability in low-nutrient reef aquariums.

ZEOzym and ZEObak can be activated together in aquarium water before dosing. Begin conservatively and monitor the skimmer, coral response, and nutrient levels.

Supports biological control of cyanobacteria

ZEOzym can support the biological management of slime algae and cyanobacteria by improving the processing of organic compounds that may contribute to unwanted growth.

Dosage and use

Regular maintenance

Dose once per week:

1 level teaspoon per 1,000 litres of actual aquarium-system water volume.

Approximate quantities:

• 100 litres: 0.1 teaspoon
• 250 litres: 0.25 teaspoon
• 500 litres: 0.5 teaspoon
• 750 litres: 0.75 teaspoon
• 1,000 litres: 1 level teaspoon

For small aquariums, use a precision scale or prepare a measured stock solution to improve dosing accuracy.

Preparing the solution

1. Place approximately 0.5 litres of aquarium water in a clean container.
2. Add the required amount of ZEOzym.
3. Mix thoroughly.
4. Allow the solution to activate for 6–8 hours.
5. Stir gently during the activation period.
6. Add the solution to an area with strong circulation.
7. Do not pour the concentrated solution directly onto corals.
8. Monitor protein-skimmer performance after dosing.

Heavy organic load

For short-term treatment of excessive organic waste, the dose can be increased up to two level teaspoons daily. Intensive dosing requires close monitoring of oxygen levels, livestock, and skimmer performance.

Stop dosing and increase aeration if fish breathing accelerates, the water becomes heavily cloudy, or corals respond negatively.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry, and dark place. Close the container tightly after use and prevent moisture or aquarium water from entering the package.
