An artificial plant for a desert terrarium, 23 × 23 × 11 cm.

The star cactus is broad and low, divided in a star-like pattern. The wide shape covers floor area and creates a shaded pocket on the floor of a desert terrarium.

An artificial plant needs no light, water or nutrients, so it works in the parts of the terrarium where a live plant would not survive – under a basking lamp or in a dark corner. In a quarantine terrarium, where the floor is kept bare and easy to clean, it is often the only option.

The plant is easy to wash and disinfect and can be combined with live plants. It gives the animal cover and hiding places, which reduces stress.
