Grotech PhytoFood Nutrient Solution for PhytoBreeder - 500ml

Grotech PhytoFood supports the cultivation of dense, actively growing marine phytoplankton. It is added to the new saltwater used to replace harvested culture volume.

The product is intended particularly for Nannochloropsis salina. It contains the essential nutrients and vitamins required by the phytoplankton culture but does not replace suitable lighting, aeration, temperature, salinity or hygienic culture equipment.

Directions

1. Harvest the required amount of mature phytoplankton.
2. Prepare the same volume of fresh saltwater.
3. Use a suitable marine-salt mix with a high magnesium content.
4. Match the replacement water to the culture’s temperature and salinity.
5. Add 10 ml of PhytoFood per litre of replacement saltwater.
6. Mix thoroughly.
7. Add the prepared water to the phytoplankton culture.
8. Continue normal lighting and aeration.
9. Do not harvest phytoplankton for feeding immediately after adding PhytoFood.
10. Increase the dosage only when the culture is healthy and growing strongly.
11. Do not exceed three times the standard dosage.
12. Never add PhytoFood directly to a reef aquarium.
