An inorganic drainage layer of natural stone for the terrarium floor, 2 kg.

The layer carries excess watering away from the growing layer. Without drainage the water sits at the bottom, the substrate goes anaerobic and starts to smell.

The material is inorganic, so it will not rot or decompose like organic substrates do. The same layer also serves as a biological filter: as water passes through it, it is cleaned, and the clean water can be circulated to a waterfall or a dripper plant.

Bio Clean speeds up the start of biological filtration.

Layered build: wash the substrate thoroughly and spread it evenly on the waterproof bottom of the terrarium. Create a water part by removing substrate where you want it. Cover the drainage layer with Bio Drain Mesh, which keeps the layers apart, and separate the water section with moss, bark or rocks. Add a biological substrate such as Plantation Soil to the land area. Plant your plants, mosses and ferns and cover the surface with leaf litter. Live plants provide shelter, retain moisture and absorb ammonium and nitrates from the soil. Add an aquatic substrate such as Turtle Pebbles or Riverbed Sand to the water part and add water.
