Exoterra kilpikonna grass

An artificial plant for an aquatic terrarium.

Turtle grass imitates underwater grass. It is intended for an aquatic turtle enclosure, where a live plant would not survive being eaten and dug up. The grass gives the turtle visual cover and makes the enclosure look more natural.

An artificial plant needs no light, water or nutrients, so it works in the parts of the terrarium where a live plant would not survive – under a basking lamp or in a dark corner. In a quarantine terrarium, where the floor is kept bare and easy to clean, it is often the only option.

The plant is easy to wash and disinfect and can be combined with live plants. It gives the animal cover and hiding places, which reduces stress.
