Sera framed filter mat, white for 450 (SE32656)

White framed filter mat for the sera X-Edge corner filter, two pieces per pack.

What it fits: the sera X-Edge 450 corner filter. The range has three sizes and this part belongs to the 450 specifically – the filters deliver 450 l/h and draw 5 W, so the bodies and their parts differ in size and are not interchangeable.

What it does: the mat is the fine end of the X-Edge's mechanical filtration. It catches the fine, clouding particles that pass through the coarse sponge and keeps the water clear. The frame holds the mat in shape and in place so water cannot bypass it at the edges.

In use: a fine mat is not worth washing until it falls apart. Replace it once it has darkened and the flow has clearly dropped. It is the consumable of the range, which is why it comes two to a pack.

According to sera the mat can also be taken out under water, so the filter does not have to be unclipped from its holder plate just to change the mat.
