Sicce WHALE 200 is a compact external canister filter designed to provide efficient and consistent filtration for aquariums from 100 to 200 litres. With a maximum flow rate of 700 litres per hour, it circulates the aquarium water effectively and helps maintain clear, clean, and biologically balanced conditions.

The 4 litre canister provides 2.2 litres of usable filtration volume. Three separate media baskets allow mechanical, biological, and chemical filtration materials to be arranged according to the aquarium requirements. This makes it possible to customize the filtration system for different livestock levels, planted aquariums, and specific water quality objectives.

Mechanical filtration captures visible debris, uneaten food, plant material, and suspended particles. Biological media provide a large surface area for beneficial bacteria involved in the aquarium nitrogen cycle. Chemical filtration materials can be used when required to clarify the water, reduce unwanted odours, or remove selected impurities.

WHALE 200 is supplied with filtration materials for convenient installation. The included media consist of filter sponges, BIOKER ceramic rings for biological filtration, and AKUAPURE chemical filtration material. The original media can later be replaced or supplemented according to the changing requirements of the aquarium.

The practical priming system helps fill the canister and hoses with water before the filter is switched on. It can be suspended directly on the aquarium rim, allowing the filter to be started without manually drawing water through the hose.

A quick disconnect hose unit simplifies routine maintenance. The inlet and outlet valves can be closed before the filter body is detached, allowing the hoses to remain installed. The canister can then be carried to a suitable cleaning area with less risk of water spills.

Water flow can be adjusted using the regulator on the outlet fitting. This makes it possible to adapt circulation to the fish, plants, and aquarium layout. Grey hoses reduce the amount of light entering the tubing, helping limit algae growth inside the hoses and potentially extending the interval between cleaning.

The maximum head height is 1.4 metres. Power consumption is only 6 watts, making WHALE 200 an energy efficient choice for constant aquarium filtration. Quiet operation makes it suitable for aquariums located in living rooms, offices, and other noise sensitive areas.

Installation and maintenance

Place the Sicce WHALE 200 on a stable and dry surface below the aquarium. Install the inlet and outlet pipes inside the aquarium and connect the hoses according to the markings on the filter. Avoid unnecessary hose length, sharp bends, and restrictions that could reduce the water flow.

Fill the filter with the priming system before connecting it to the electrical supply. Check the hoses, valves, and canister connections carefully. Start the filter only after the canister and hoses have filled with water.

Disconnect the filter from the electrical supply before maintenance. Close the valves and detach the canister from the hose unit. Rinse mechanical media regularly and replace them when necessary. Biological media should be rinsed gently in water removed from the aquarium to preserve beneficial bacteria.

Do not replace all biological media at the same time. Inspect the impeller, impeller chamber, hoses, seals, and connections during maintenance. Regular cleaning helps maintain water flow and quiet operation.
