Diversa High Glass Terrarium

Depending on size and setup, the terrarium may be suitable for geckos, tree frogs, and other climbing species. Select the model according to the adult size, activity, social requirements, and minimum enclosure recommendations of the intended animal.

Clear glass panels provide excellent visibility into the enclosure. Natural backgrounds, live plants, branches, and other furnishings remain clearly visible, making the terrarium an attractive part of the room.

Convenient sliding glass doors

Sliding front doors provide easy access for feeding, misting, and maintenance. The doors can be opened only as much as required, reducing escape risk during routine care.

The sliding construction requires no large opening area in front of the enclosure. This makes placement on terrarium cabinets and racks easier. A compatible lock can be added for escape-prone animals.

Designed for climbing species

The interior should be arranged according to the animal’s natural behaviour. Different branch diameters, cork bark, vines, platforms, and plants can be installed throughout the height of the enclosure.

Branches and climbing structures must be secured firmly. They should support the animal’s weight and movement without falling or shifting. Resting places and hides at several heights encourage the animal to use the complete enclosure.

Live plants provide cover and make effective use of the vertical space. Choose non-toxic plants capable of tolerating the intended temperature, humidity, and lighting.

Ventilation and microclimate

The ventilation system supports continuous airflow. Appropriate ventilation helps reduce stagnant air, excessive moisture, and mould development.

Ventilation, humidity, and misting must be adjusted according to the species. Tropical setups may use moisture-retaining substrate, live plants, and manual or automatic misting. High humidity should not automatically mean continuously wet conditions; many enclosures require a species-appropriate drying period between misting cycles.

Monitor temperature and relative humidity with suitable instruments. Measuring conditions at different heights is recommended because the upper and lower sections may differ.

Lighting and heating

Species-appropriate LED lighting, UVB lighting, heat lamps, or other equipment can be installed. Lighting and heating must always be selected according to the biological needs of the animal.

Heating should create a thermal gradient that allows movement between warmer and cooler zones. The warm area is often positioned higher in climbing enclosures, but the correct location depends on the species.

Control heating equipment with a suitable thermostat. The animal must not be able to contact hot lamps or heating elements. Follow all safe distances specified by the equipment manufacturer.

Substrate and furnishing

Suitable substrates may include coconut fibre, bark, moss, tropical terrarium soil, and bioactive growing media. Select the substrate according to the animal, humidity requirements, and cleaning method.

A bioactive setup can include a drainage layer, separating fabric, plant substrate, and suitable clean-up organisms. Compatibility with the animal must always be assessed individually.

Install rocks, branches, and heavy furnishings securely. Do not rely on loose substrate alone to support heavy structures because burrowing or movement may cause them to fall.

Setup and use

1. Place the terrarium on a stable, level, and sufficiently strong surface.
2. Make sure that the complete base receives even support.
3. Inspect the glass, seams, ventilation, and sliding doors.
4. Plan heating, lighting, and humidity according to the species.
5. Connect all heating equipment to a suitable thermostat.
6. Add a species-appropriate substrate.
7. Install branches, platforms, and hides securely.
8. Add safe plants selected for the animal.
9. Keep ventilation openings and door movement unobstructed.
10. Measure temperature and humidity at different heights.
11. Allow environmental conditions to stabilize.
12. Confirm that the animal cannot escape through gaps.
