A halogen spot bulb for creating a basking site, 150 W, E27 cap.

Why halogen: in an ordinary incandescent bulb the tungsten evaporates from the filament onto the glass, and that is where the bulb's life ends. A halogen bulb contains a trace of halogen gas inside the glass, which returns the tungsten to the filament. Life is extended, and the higher operating temperature gives whiter light, greater light output and better efficiency.

The bulb has a high infrared content, so the heat penetrates deeper – which is exactly what matters when heating a basking site. The neodymium sleeve enriches the animal's colouring, and UVA supports physiological well-being and reproductive behaviour.

For a full daily cycle: combine it with a night bulb or an infrared spot.
