The light is a soft ultraviolet, similar to the UV reflected from the surface of the moon.

What it does: under ultraviolet light many scorpions, spiders and insects glow in the dark. The light also reveals some spider webs and can instigate mating behaviour in spiders. At night you see what the day does not show.

Power consumption is only 2 W, roughly 80% less than a conventional night light. The low output also means the light does not prevent the natural night-time temperature drop. Service life is long.

The product is intended for keeping reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates only.
