Hyphessobrycon piranga, wild

Hyphessobrycon piranga is a rare and colourful tetra best known for the bright red finnage of mature males. It is an active, peaceful schooling fish that displays beautifully in planted aquariums.

The species thrives in groups and shows its best colours when kept in well-structured aquariums with plants, open swimming areas and subdued lighting.
