Tunze Stainless Steel Blades restore the ability of a compatible Care Magnet cleaner to remove hard and persistent deposits from aquarium glass. The package contains three replacement blades manufactured from corrosion-resistant stainless steel.

The sharp metal edge is particularly effective against old algae deposits that adhere firmly to aquarium glass. It can remove hard green spot algae and the calcareous algae commonly found in marine aquariums more efficiently than an ordinary plastic blade.

The slim Care Magnet design allows the aquarium glass to be cleaned close to substrate, rocks, plants, and corals. When using a stainless steel blade, move the cleaner slowly and carefully to maintain complete control.

These stainless steel blades are designed exclusively for glass aquariums. Do not use them on acrylic or plastic surfaces because the sharp metal edge can cause permanent scratches.

Before cleaning, make sure that the blade, magnetic cleaner, and aquarium glass are completely free from sand, gravel, and other hard particles. Even a single trapped grain may scratch the glass when the cleaner is moved.

After use in a marine aquarium, rinse the blade with freshwater and dry it thoroughly. Regular care helps prevent salt and mineral deposits and keeps the replacement blade ready for future use.

Replacing the blade

1. Remove the Care Magnet from the aquarium.
2. Rinse and dry the cleaner.
3. Carefully remove the old metal blade.
4. Clean the blade attachment area.
5. Insert the new replacement blade straight into the holder.
6. Confirm that the blade is securely and evenly installed.
7. Test the cleaner on an inconspicuous area.
8. Clean the glass using slow and controlled movements.
