Hobby Filter sponge fine, blue 50 x 50 x 3 cm

The fine blue filter foam combines mechanical particle removal with biological filtration. Its open-cell structure captures smaller debris than coarse 10 PPI foam while maintaining water movement through the filter.

The three-centimetre-thick sheet can be cut to the dimensions of a filter chamber or basket. It is particularly suitable as the second mechanical stage after coarse prefilter foam.

Directions

1. Measure the internal dimensions of the filter chamber.
2. Mark the required shape on the foam.
3. Cut the sheet with a long, sharp knife.
4. Make the piece slightly larger than the filter opening.
5. Rinse the new foam before use.
6. Install it after coarse prefilter foam in the direction of water flow.
7. Do not compress the material excessively.
8. Ensure that water cannot bypass the edges completely.
9. Check that water flows evenly through the foam.
10. Clean it when flow begins to decrease.
11. Rinse established biological foam in removed aquarium water.
12. Replace the foam when it becomes brittle, damaged or permanently compressed.
