NYOS Ion-B Alk/pH+ Liquid

NYOS ION-B ALK/pH+ Liquid replenishes alkalinity consumed by stony corals and other calcifying reef organisms. The premixed solution requires no dilution and can be added manually or with an automatic dosing pump.

The ION-B system reflects the approximate 1:7 relationship between alkalinity and calcium consumption during coral calcification. ALK/pH+ and CA/MG+ are therefore generally dosed in equal quantities, while the final daily dose is adjusted according to the aquarium’s measured consumption.

Dosage

Starting guideline:

5–10 ml per 100 litres of actual aquarium-system water volume daily.

The final dosage must be adjusted according to measured daily alkalinity consumption.

In most aquariums, dose equal quantities of ION-B ALK/pH+ and ION-B CA/MG+.

Instructions

1. Measure alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium.
2. Calculate the actual system water volume.
3. Determine daily alkalinity consumption.
4. Begin with 5–10 ml per 100 litres daily.
5. Dose an equal amount of CA/MG+ unless testing indicates otherwise.
6. Divide the daily quantity into several small doses.
7. Add the solution to an area with strong circulation.
8. Keep ALK/pH+ and CA/MG+ in separate containers.
9. Do not dose both solutions simultaneously at the same location.
10. Test alkalinity daily during initial adjustment.
11. Adjust the dosage gradually.
12. Monitor calcium, magnesium, pH, and salinity regularly.
13. Close the container securely after use.
