eSHa EXIT is an effective and easy to use treatment for external protozoan parasites in freshwater aquariums. It has been developed especially for white spot disease and velvet disease, two conditions that may produce similar symptoms and can therefore be difficult to distinguish.

White spot disease is also known as Ich, Ick, or Spot and is commonly caused by Ichthyophthirius multifiliis. Typical signs include small white spots on the body and fins. Affected fish may rub against rocks, wood, or aquarium equipment, hold their fins close to the body, breathe more rapidly, or display unusual swimming behaviour.

Velvet disease can be caused by Piscinoodinium pillulare. A fine yellow, grey, or golden coating may appear on the skin and can have a velvet like appearance under certain lighting. Other possible signs include increased mucus production, rubbing, breathing difficulties, reduced appetite, and abnormal behaviour.

In addition to white spot and velvet disease, eSHa EXIT targets several other protozoan parasites associated with spots and skin irritation. These include Ichthyophthirius, Piscinoodinium, Chilodonella, Trichodina, Tetrahymena, and Apiosoma. This broad range is useful when symptoms overlap and the exact parasite is difficult to identify.

The formula does not contain copper. When dosed correctly, it is suitable for a wide range of freshwater ornamental fish, including sensitive tropical and scaleless species. It can also be used with shrimp and snails according to the product guidance. eSHa EXIT is designed for freshwater aquariums and should not be used as a marine fish treatment.

Treatment is administered directly to the aquarium water. Fish do not normally need to be caught or transferred to a separate treatment tank, which helps reduce handling stress. Mechanical and biological filtration can continue operating to maintain circulation, oxygenation, and biological stability.

Activated carbon, fresh chemical media, ion exchange resins, and other materials that may absorb the treatment should be removed before dosing. Ultraviolet sterilizers, ozone generators, and oxidizing equipment should be switched off because they may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.

eSHa EXIT can be combined with eSHa 2000 when external parasites occur together with fungal or bacterial symptoms. It can also be used with eSHa HEXAMITA according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not combine it with treatments from other manufacturers unless compatibility has been confirmed.

Dosage and use
