Leopard Gecko (Eublepharis macularius)
Eublepharis macularius, commonly known as the Leopard Gecko, is a terrestrial gecko native to South Asia. The species is famous for its spotted pattern, movable eyelids and calm disposition.
A suitable enclosure should provide both warm and cool areas, multiple hiding places and appropriate substrate. Proper temperature gradients allow the gecko to regulate its body temperature naturally.
The species feeds primarily on insects such as crickets, roaches and mealworms. A varied diet combined with calcium and vitamin supplementation supports healthy growth and development.
Its hardy nature and straightforward care requirements have made the Leopard Gecko one of the most widely kept reptiles in the hobby.
