Javan Emerald Tree Skink (Dasia olivacea) M-L
Dasia olivacea, commonly known as the Javan Emerald Tree Skink, is a semi-arboreal skink that spends much of its life among branches, tree trunks and dense vegetation.
The species is active during the day and frequently basks or observes its surroundings from elevated positions. Its slender body and long tail make it well adapted to life above ground.
A suitable enclosure should be vertically oriented and provide numerous branches, plants and hiding places. High humidity, quality UVB lighting and appropriate basking temperatures support long-term wellbeing.
The species feeds primarily on insects and other appropriately sized feeder animals. A varied diet helps maintain optimal health.
Its attractive appearance and active lifestyle make Dasia olivacea an excellent display species for naturalistic tropical enclosures.
