Exoterra termostaatti 300W

An electronic ON/OFF thermostat for terrarium heating, for heating devices up to 300 W.

Reptiles are ectotherms: they regulate their body temperature using an external heat source. In the wild they use both direct radiation from the sun and surfaces the sun has heated, such as branches and rocks. That is why a terrarium needs a species-appropriate temperature gradient the animal can choose its spot from.

The thermostat holds the temperature at its setpoint and prevents both overheating on a hot day and undercooling on a cold night. The electronic Triac switch is considerably more accurate than a conventional thermostat, so the temperature does not swing.

The range is 20 to 35 °C. Connect a heat mat, heat cable or ceramic heater to the thermostat, set the temperature and place the sensor where you want it. The red indicator lights while the heater is on and goes out once the setpoint is reached.

The dial is recessed, so the temperature will not change by accident when the device is handled. The sensor is waterproof and therefore safe in humid terrariums and in water. The power cord is 110 cm with a grounded plug and receptacle.

Setting: research the preferred optimum temperature range of your species before setting it, and build the terrarium gradient accordingly.
