Tunze Turbelle® High Jet 5000

Tunze Turbelle High Jet 5000 is a new-generation high-pressure dosing pump for automatic aquarium top-off systems. It is designed as a direct replacement and performance upgrade for Tunze Osmolator 3155 and Osmolator nano 3152.

Evaporation continuously lowers the aquarium water level. In a marine aquarium, evaporation also increases salinity because only water evaporates while the salt remains. An automatic top-off system replaces the evaporated water and helps maintain stable water level and salinity.

Turbelle High Jet 5000 transfers replacement water from the reservoir to the aquarium or sump under Osmolator control. High pressure and excellent delivery height make the pump especially useful when the reservoir is positioned below the aquarium or the tube route is unusually long.

High delivery head in a compact housing

The maximum delivery head is approximately 6.2 metres. This provides substantial freedom when positioning the freshwater reservoir.

Performance with the included 6 mm tube:

• At 1.0 metre: approximately 120 l/h
• At 1.5 metres: approximately 100 l/h
• At 2.0 metres: approximately 83 l/h
• Maximum delivery head: approximately 6.2 m

Actual flow is affected by tube length, bends, fittings, and contamination.

Osmolator compatibility

Turbelle High Jet 5000 is designed for:

• Tunze Osmolator 3155
• Tunze Osmolator nano 3152

It provides a practical direct upgrade for the original dosing pump. The High Jet is a pump and replacement component rather than a complete automatic top-off system. Automatic operation requires a compatible Osmolator controller and water-level sensor.

Submerged or external operation

The pump can operate inside the freshwater reservoir or externally. For submerged use, position the pump fully underwater with the intake unobstructed.

For external installation, every suction-side connection must remain airtight. Air entering the suction line may prevent reliable pumping. Position the external pump where a possible leak cannot cause water damage.

Standard connections improve compatibility:

• Suction side: ½-inch thread
• Pressure side: ¼-inch thread

Quiet BEMF BLDC motor

The pump uses modern BEMF BLDC motor technology with a true three-phase sine wave. This provides smooth and particularly quiet operation.

Precision hydrodynamic bearings and wear-resistant materials support a long service life. The pump is suitable for frequent automatic top-off cycles.

Integrated protective functions

Turbelle High Jet 5000 includes protection against reverse polarity, dry running, and blockage. The motor is encapsulated to protect it from corrosion, while the polycarbonate housing provides high impact resistance.

Protective functions do not replace regular inspection. Check the reservoir level, tubing, pump intake, and outlet regularly.

Tube and connector included

The package includes a three-metre PU tube with a 6 mm outside diameter. The tube is flexible, resistant to hydrolysis and microbes, and designed to resist kinking.

A corrosion-resistant push-in connector provides a secure connection to the pressure side of the pump.

Preventing siphoning

Install the tube outlet above the maximum water level of the freshwater reservoir. If the outlet is positioned too low, a siphon may continue transferring water after the pump stops.

Do not submerge the outlet in the aquarium or sump. Correct positioning helps prevent backflow and accidental overfilling.

Installation and setup

1. Disconnect the Osmolator system from power.
2. Remove the existing pump.
3. Select submerged or external installation.
4. Keep the pump intake unobstructed.
5. Install the push-in connector on the pressure side.
6. Cut the PU tube squarely.
7. Push the tube fully into the connector.
8. Route the tube without sharp bends.
9. Secure the outlet above the aquarium or sump.
10. Keep the outlet above the reservoir’s maximum water level.
11. Do not submerge the outlet.
12. Connect the pump to the compatible Osmolator system.
13. Test water delivery under supervision.
14. Test for siphoning after the pump stops.
15. Inspect every connection before normal operation.
