Tunze TUNZE® Aquawind eco chic
TUNZE Aquawind eco chic 7028.500 is designed to help control aquarium temperature through evaporative cooling. The fan directs uniform airflow across the water surface, increasing evaporation and removing heat from the aquarium.
Evaporative cooling is an energy-efficient solution when room temperature rises during warm weather. In suitable conditions, Aquawind eco chic can reduce the water temperature of a standard aquarium by approximately 2–4 °C.
Actual cooling performance depends on room temperature, humidity, aquarium surface area, covers, lighting, equipment heat, and ventilation. Evaporative cooling is generally more effective in dry air than in very humid conditions.
Long-range airflow
The special fan design produces controlled airflow over a long distance. One unit can therefore cool standard aquariums up to approximately 800 litres and two metres long.
Direct the airflow across as much of the open water surface as possible. The fan should not blow directly downward into one small area.
Adjustable installation
Aquawind eco chic attaches directly to an aquarium edge with glass thickness from 0 to 22 mm. Installation requires no drilling or permanent structural modifications.
The fan angle can be adjusted by tilting the unit. This makes it easy to direct airflow according to the aquarium dimensions, lighting, and available installation space.
Quiet and energy-efficient operation
Aquawind eco chic is designed for very quiet operation. It is suitable for living rooms, offices, and other areas where low operating noise is important.
Power consumption is only approximately 1.7 W. The fan operates at a safe extra-low voltage of 12 V and includes a power supply suitable for 100–240 V and 50–60 Hz electrical networks.
IP57 fan protection
The built-in quality fan has an IP57 protection rating. If the fan accidentally falls into the aquarium, disconnect the power, remove the unit, rinse it thoroughly with reverse-osmosis water, and allow it to dry completely before further use.
The power supply and electrical connections must remain dry and protected from splashes and condensation.
Freshwater and marine aquariums
Aquawind eco chic is suitable for freshwater, planted, marine, and reef aquariums. It is especially useful in systems where powerful lighting and pumps add considerable heat.
Evaporation removes water but leaves dissolved minerals and salts behind. In marine aquariums, replace evaporated water with fresh reverse-osmosis water rather than mixed saltwater. An automatic top-off system helps maintain stable salinity and water level.
