TMC Reef Skim 2.0 750 DC protein skimmer

TMC Reef Skim 2.0 750 DC is a sump-mounted protein skimmer designed to manage dissolved organic waste in marine and reef aquariums. Its compact construction combines substantial skimming capacity, quiet operation, and extremely low energy consumption.

Fine air bubbles attract proteins, fats, and other dissolved organic compounds. These substances rise with the foam column and collect inside the removable collection cup.

Removing organic compounds before decomposition helps limit nitrate and phosphate formation while supporting clear, oxygen-rich aquarium water.

The skimmer is suitable for marine systems from approximately 500 to 750 litres, depending on biological load. Heavily stocked, intensively fed, or SPS-dominated aquariums should be sized towards the lower end of the recommended range.

Adjustable Reef Pump SK DC

The compact Reef Pump SK DC provides electronically adjustable performance. The pump output can be matched to aquarium load, sump conditions, and the desired wet or dry skimming result.

Power consumption ranges from approximately 2.6 to 10 W. The pump operates at 12 V DC with a maximum current of approximately 0.8 A.

Electronic controller and feeding mode

The supplied controller provides accurate output adjustment without mechanically restricting water flow.

The feeding mode pauses the pump temporarily, helping prevent coral foods and supplements from being removed immediately. The pump returns to normal operation after the feeding pause.

Bubble-diffusion plate

The high-performance diffusion plate distributes fine bubbles evenly throughout the reaction chamber. It reduces turbulence, stabilizes the foam column, and maximizes air-to-water contact.

In-base water outlet

Processed water exits through the base instead of a protruding side pipe. This design extends contact time, reduces operating noise, helps limit escaping microbubbles, and minimizes the required sump footprint.

Quiet operation

The integrated air-intake silencer reduces venturi noise. The adjustable DC pump, balanced bubble plate, and in-base outlet provide quiet operation in living spaces and other noise-sensitive installations.

Ultra-compact footprint

The skimmer measures approximately 139 × 139 × 443 mm. Its compact footprint preserves valuable sump space for return pumps, media reactors, heaters, and other filtration equipment.

Easy maintenance

The pump can be removed quickly for cleaning. Regularly clean the pump intake, impeller, impeller chamber, venturi, air hose, silencer, bubble plate, reaction chamber, collection-cup neck, and water outlets.

Installation and setup

1. Reserve at least 139 × 139 mm of sump floor space.
2. Leave sufficient clearance above the skimmer.
3. Position the unit on a stable and level base.
4. Confirm the recommended sump water depth in the instructions.
5. Use a stable seawater-resistant platform when required.
6. Install the pump, bubble plate, and collection cup.
7. Connect the air hose and silencer.
8. Position the controller and power supply in a dry location.
9. Create a drip loop in the power cable.
10. Start the pump at a moderate setting.
11. Allow the skimmer to run in before final adjustment.
12. Increase the output gradually according to aquarium load.
13. Set the foam level for wet or dry skimming.
14. Monitor the collection cup closely during initial operation.
15. Clean the cup, air intake, and pump regularly.
16. Disconnect the equipment before maintenance.
