A fixture with a heat-resistant porcelain socket and a wire guard, size Large (18 × 18 × 14.5 cm). E27 socket.

The fixture is specifically intended for ceramic heaters (Heat Wave Lamps), self-ballasted mercury vapour bulbs (Solar Glo) and high-wattage incandescent bulbs. The wire guard lets the heat out, so it cannot build up inside the fixture – which is exactly why an ordinary dome lamp is unsuitable for a ceramic heater.

According to the manufacturer the Wire Light is the only Exo Terra fixture that meets the safety requirements when used with a ceramic heater.

Wattage limit: check the maximum rating on the packaging before fitting a bulb.

With a glass terrarium the fixture is suspended above the enclosure using the Exo Terra Light Bracket. The product is intended for keeping reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates only.
