Waterbox Marine X

Waterbox MARINE X provides a complete structural foundation for a customized marine and reef aquarium. It combines a rimless glass display, practical sump, purpose designed plumbing, and aquarium cabinet in one coordinated system.

The range is designed for aquarium keepers who want the performance and flexibility of sump filtration without planning every structural component separately. Lighting, return pump, protein skimmer, circulation pumps, heating, and other equipment can be selected according to individual requirements.

The rimless display creates a clean and modern appearance. Ultra clear glass provides excellent light transmission and displays fish, corals, rockwork, and aquarium colours with outstanding clarity. High strength black silicone creates clean visual lines and supports long term durability.

A central overflow collects surface water and directs it into the sump. Effective surface skimming helps carry suspended waste and dissolved organic compounds towards mechanical filtration and the protein skimmer.

The overflow includes a main drain and a separate safety drain. The safety drain helps prevent the display from overflowing if normal drainage becomes restricted. A precision valve allows the main drain to be adjusted for stable and quiet operation.

Dual adjustable return nozzles direct filtered water back into the display. The nozzles can be positioned to distribute the returning water across the aquarium. Dedicated circulation pumps are selected separately to provide the flow required by the reef structure and corals.

Practical plumbing

Waterbox MARINE X includes plumbing designed specifically for the system. Quick connect fittings simplify installation and reduce the need for glued standard pipe connections.

Install the plumbing according to the product instructions and inspect every connection before normal operation. Testing the complete system with freshwater is recommended to confirm proper drainage, overflow performance, return flow, and available sump capacity.

Versatile sump

The MARINE X sump provides dedicated areas for mechanical filtration, a protein skimmer, media reactors, the return pump, and other marine aquarium equipment.

Filter socks capture suspended debris, uneaten food, and organic particles. Depending on the selected model, the mechanical filtration chamber can be adapted for a compatible automatic filter roller.

A spacious equipment chamber provides room for a protein skimmer and media reactor. A protein skimmer removes organic compounds before they break down into nitrate and phosphate.

A dedicated return chamber provides space for a compatible return pump. Select the pump according to the total system volume, plumbing resistance, and desired circulation rate. An adjustable pump makes balancing the overflow and return flow easier.

An integrated freshwater reservoir supports an automatic top off system. Automatic replacement of evaporated water with purified freshwater helps maintain stable salinity.

Durable aquarium cabinet

Waterbox MARINE X includes marine grade cabinetry designed to support the aquarium and tolerate humid conditions. Aluminium framing provides structural strength, while laminated exterior panels create a clean and modern finish.

Adjustable feet allow the cabinet to be levelled accurately. The complete system must be level from side to side and from front to back before filling.

The open cabinet back improves ventilation and simplifies cable and hose routing. Power supplies, controllers, and electrical connections should be positioned away from splashes and possible leaks.

Suitable for different reef systems

Waterbox MARINE X can be equipped for SPS corals, LPS corals, soft corals, or a mixed reef. Final suitability depends on the selected lighting, circulation, filtration, and water quality management.

Build the rock structure with open spaces that allow water to circulate around and behind it. Leave sufficient room for coral growth, fish swimming routes, and cleaning the aquarium glass.

The MARINE X range is available in several sizes and includes a Peninsula model designed for three sided viewing. Select the system according to available space, planned livestock, coral requirements, and equipment.

Installation and setup

1. Confirm that the floor can support the complete system.
2. Measure doors, corridors, corners, and stairs along the delivery route.
3. Position the cabinet on a stable and load bearing surface.
4. Level the cabinet accurately.
5. Lift the display aquarium into position with sufficient assistance.
6. Install the sump and plumbing according to the instructions.
7. Inspect every plumbing connection.
8. Test the complete system with freshwater.
9. Adjust the overflow for stable and quiet operation.
10. Switch off the return pump and confirm that the sump does not overflow.
11. Install the selected marine aquarium equipment.
12. Fill the system with correctly prepared saltwater.
13. Cycle the biological filtration before adding livestock.
14. Introduce fish and corals gradually.
