NYOS Alkalinity Reefer test

NYOS Alkalinity REEFER Test Kit is designed specifically for accurate and reproducible alkalinity measurement under marine-water conditions.

Alkalinity helps stabilize aquarium pH and supplies carbonate and bicarbonate required by stony corals and other calcifying organisms. Regular testing supports the adjustment of Balling solutions, calcium reactors, all-in-one mineral supplements, and water-change schedules.

The simple titration method uses only one reagent. Reagent is added until a clear permanent colour change occurs, after which the KH value is read directly from the syringe scale. No separate calculation or colour-chart comparison is required.

Testing instructions

1. Rinse the sample vessel with aquarium water.
2. Add the sample quantity specified in the enclosed instructions.
3. Prepare the sample according to the instructions.
4. Fill the syringe with titration reagent.
5. Remove relevant air bubbles from the syringe and dosing tip.
6. Add the reagent gradually while mixing.
7. Slow the addition rate near the endpoint.
8. Stop when the specified permanent colour change occurs.
9. Read the KH value directly from the syringe scale.
10. Record the result and measurement date.
11. Rinse the sample vessel and syringe immediately.
12. Do not return unused reagent to the original bottle.
13. Close the reagent bottles securely.
