Green Basilisk (Basiliscus plumifrons) S-M
Basiliscus plumifrons, commonly known as the Green Basilisk, is a striking arboreal lizard native to the rainforests of Central America.
Adult males develop impressive crests on the head, back and tail, giving the species its distinctive appearance. Combined with its bright green colouration and active nature, it has become one of the most recognisable tropical lizards.
A suitable enclosure should provide generous climbing opportunities, live plants, elevated basking areas and high humidity. Access to water is highly beneficial.
The species feeds on insects, small vertebrates and some plant matter. A varied diet together with calcium and vitamin supplementation supports long-term health and wellbeing.
