Exoterra termostaatti 600W

A thermostat for terrarium heating, for heating devices up to 600 W. It has a day/night timer, so the two temperatures are set separately.

Reptiles are ectotherms: they regulate their body temperature using an external heat source. In the wild they use both direct radiation from the sun and surfaces the sun has heated, such as branches and rocks. That is why a terrarium needs a species-appropriate temperature gradient the animal can choose its spot from.

Daytime and night-time temperatures are set independently, which gives the terrarium a safe daily cycle. Many species need a clearly cooler period at night.

The control is dimming and pulse proportional: the power is reduced smoothly near the setpoint, so the temperature holds more accurately than with on-off control. The range is 10 to 60 °C.

The LCD screen shows the heating mode, day or night mode and both the measured and the set temperature. A red LED and a heating symbol indicate that the heater is powered; once the setpoint is reached the LED turns blue.

A heat mat, heat cable, ceramic heater or incandescent heat bulb can be connected. The push button and dial system prevents accidental changes. The power cord is 190 cm and the sensor is waterproof.
