An artificial plant for a desert terrarium, 6.3 × 5 × 16 cm.

The saguaro is the signature columnar cactus of the Sonoran Desert, growing up to 12 metres in the wild. The replica brings a vertical line to the terrarium and works at the back of a layout.

An artificial plant needs no light, water or nutrients, so it works in the parts of the terrarium where a live plant would not survive – under a basking lamp or in a dark corner. In a quarantine terrarium, where the floor is kept bare and easy to clean, it is often the only option.

The plant is easy to wash and disinfect and can be combined with live plants. It gives the animal cover and hiding places, which reduces stress.
