The Boston fern is a dense fern with arching fronds from the floor of tropical forests. This larger model fills a good part of the enclosure floor and gives cover to a larger animal as well.

An artificial plant needs no light, water or nutrients, so it works in the parts of the terrarium where a live plant would not survive – under a basking lamp or in a dark corner. In a quarantine terrarium, where the floor is kept bare and easy to clean, it is often the only option.

The plant is easy to wash and disinfect and can be combined with live plants. It gives the animal cover and hiding places, which reduces stress.
