A background poster for the aquarium, 100 x 49 centimetres, picture series G.

The colour of the background has an unexpected bearing on algae. A green film of algae gathers over time on the inner face of the back glass, which is usually not cleaned as often as the front.

In front of a green-toned background that film hardly shows at all, where in front of a blue or pale one it appears at once as a cloudy veil.

If the back glass is not to be washed regularly, a green background is therefore the more practical choice.

The poster is double-sided and weighs 40 grams.
