A compact fluorescent bulb for terrariums, 25 W, E27 cap. Intended for desert species.

The UVB150 provides a very high UVB level comparable to desert sunlight. In desert regions the sunlight is direct, so desert reptiles receive more UV radiation than any other group of reptiles.

It is effective up to 50 cm. The bulb also suits terrariums with a dense screen cover: a dense screen can filter out up to half of the UVB radiation.

UVB radiation lets the skin form vitamin D3, and D3 makes calcium absorption possible. Sufficient UVB prevents metabolic bone disease. UVA radiation stimulates appetite, activity and reproductive behaviour.

A UVB bulb emits little visible light, so combine it with a daylight bulb (Natural Light or Reptile Vision).

Replace the bulb yearly. The light and UV output of a compact fluorescent bulb decline over time even though the bulb still lights normally – which is exactly why replacing a UV bulb is easy to forget and the animal ends up without radiation.
