NYOS Calcium Reefer test

NYOS Calcium REEFER Test Kit is designed specifically for accurate and reproducible calcium measurement under marine-water conditions.

Calcium is consumed by stony corals, coralline algae, clams, and other calcifying reef organisms. Regular measurement helps adjust Balling solutions, two- and three-part dosing systems, calcium reactors, complete mineral supplements, and water-change routines.

The test uses a separate indicator and titration solution. Titrant is added gradually until the sample reaches the specified permanent colour transition. The simple conversion factor provides a calcium result with a resolution of 5 mg/l.

Testing instructions

1. Rinse the sample vessel with aquarium water.
2. Add the sample quantity specified in the enclosed instructions.
3. Add the reagents and indicator in the correct order.
4. Mix the sample thoroughly.
5. Fill the titration device with titration solution.
6. Attach the precision dosing tip.
7. Remove air bubbles from the dosing tip.
8. Add the titrant gradually while mixing.
9. Reduce the addition rate near the endpoint.
10. Stop when the specified permanent colour transition occurs.
11. Read the amount of titration solution used.
12. Convert the result according to the enclosed instructions.
13. Record the result and measurement date.
14. Rinse all test equipment immediately after use.
15. Close the reagent bottles securely.
