About the range: the sera fil bioactive external filters come in five models: 130, 130 + UV, 250, 250 + UV and 400 + UV. All are delivered ready for connection and biologically active from the start, because both the siporax Professional medium and the sera filter biostart that activates it are included.

Construction: the filter baskets keep the media layers in order and easy to handle. Intake and outlet are built so that the hoses can be disconnected at the multi-function valve for cleaning without emptying the whole filter.

What the UV-C adds: the filtered water is irradiated by the integrated UV-C lamp before it returns to the tank. The irradiation is aimed at pathogens, parasites and the multiplication stages of algae, and within the range it is available on the 130 + UV, 250 + UV and 400 + UV models.

The manufacturer states the filter performance of the siporax Professional medium as 34 times that of common clay based media.
