ATI T5 Purple Plus is a colour-enhancing T5 HO fluorescent tube for marine and reef aquariums. Its full-spectrum output includes strong red and blue components that bring out pink, purple and red pigments in corals and fish. Purple Plus is intended as a supplementary colour-rendering tube alongside Blue Plus, Coral Plus and other broad-spectrum lighting. One tube in a four- or six-tube fixture is usually sufficient to add warmth and contrast without creating an excessively purple appearance

ATI Purple Plus fills the visual gaps that may remain under heavily blue reef lighting. Its combination of full-spectrum light and reinforced red and blue output improves warm-colour rendition while maintaining a colour profile suitable for marine aquariums.

The tube is especially effective for displaying pink Seriatopora, red Montipora, purple Acropora, colourful zoanthids and warm-toned reef fish. It is best combined with at least two other T5 tubes and is not normally recommended as a stand-alone lamp.

Always confirm the fixture wattage, G5 socket and specified physical tube length before ordering.

Installation and replacement

  1. Disconnect the fixture from power.
  2. Allow the existing tube to cool.
  3. Remove the splash guard where applicable.
  4. Remove the old tube according to the fixture instructions.
  5. Inspect the sockets, seals and reflectors.
  6. Install the Purple Plus tube evenly at both ends.
  7. Refit all splash-protection components.
  8. Reconnect the fixture and confirm normal operation.
  9. Evaluate the colour together with the other installed lamps.
  10. Acclimate corals if total light intensity changes.
  11. Replace the tube approximately every 8–12 months in demanding reef use.
