Directions

Several versions of the test have been produced. Always use the instructions and conversion tables supplied with the individual kit.

The general procedure involves:

1. Adding the specified marine-water sample to the test vial.
2. Adding Sr-1 reagent and mixing.
3. Adding a level measure of Sr-2 powder.
4. Using the dedicated syringe to add Sr-3 reagent.
5. Titrating to the first persistent blue endpoint.
6. Adding Sr-4 with its separately designated syringe.
7. Adding Sr-5 powder and observing the specified reaction time.
8. Performing the final Sr-3 titration.
9. Reading the syringe and determining calcium and strontium from the batch-specific tables.
10. Cleaning the test vial thoroughly after use.

Do not interchange the reagent syringes. Sr-1 contains corrosive sodium hydroxide, so protective gloves and eye protection are recommended.
