Correct humidity is essential to the health of reptiles and amphibians. Incorrect humidity leads to electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, improper shedding (dysecdysis), thickening of the horny layers of the skin (hyperkeratosis) and respiratory infections.

Humidity requirements vary greatly between species according to the environment they come from – research the needs of your own species before adjusting the terrarium.

Installation: remove the paper backing, make sure the surface is clean and dry, and press the hygrometer firmly into place.
