Salifert pH profi test

The Salifert pH Profi Test is designed for routine pH monitoring in saltwater aquariums. A measured water sample is treated with pH reagent, and the resulting colour is compared with the included chart.

The test helps evaluate changes associated with alkalinity, carbon-dioxide accumulation, gas exchange, aquarium ventilation, biological activity and the day-night lighting cycle.

Directions

1. Rinse the test vial with the water to be measured.
2. Add 5 ml of aquarium water.
3. Add the quantity of pH reagent specified in the current package instructions.
4. Hold the dropper bottle vertically.
5. Swirl the sample gently for approximately ten seconds.
6. Compare the colour with the supplied chart under neutral white light.
7. Estimate an intermediate result when the colour falls between two chart values.
8. Record the pH value and measurement time.
9. Rinse the vial and syringe after use.

For meaningful trend monitoring, test at the same time of day and under similar aquarium conditions.
