Salifert Calcium Ca profi test
Calcium is a major element used by stony corals, giant clams, calcareous algae and other calcifying organisms. The Salifert test allows calcium consumption and supplementation to be monitored without an electronic meter.
A measured seawater sample is treated with the supplied indicator reagents. Titration reagent is then added until the sample changes from pink to a stable blue endpoint. The remaining reagent in the syringe is converted into a calcium concentration using the included table.

Directions
Several versions of the Salifert calcium test have been produced. Always follow the instructions supplied with the individual package.
For the common 2 ml version:
- Add 2 ml of aquarium water to the test vial.
- Add one level scoop of Ca-1.
- Attach the plastic tip to the 1 ml titration syringe.
- Draw titration reagent to the 1.00 ml mark.
- Do not remove the normal air space inside the syringe tip.
- Add approximately 0.6 ml of reagent and swirl for five seconds.
- Continue adding reagent drop by drop.
- Swirl for one or two seconds after each drop.
- Stop when the sample changes from pink through purple to a stable blue.
- Hold the syringe with the tip upward.
- Read the remaining reagent.
- Obtain the result from the supplied table or calculate:
Calcium mg/l = (1 − syringe reading) × 500
