A two-layer substrate for building the floor of a bamboo forest in the terrarium. 8.8 l pack.

In nature the forest floor consists of two layers: fresh leaf litter on top and rich organic matter beneath. This product contains both.

The top layer is sun-dried bamboo leaves (Bambusa vulgaris). The leaves make a soft cover the animal can burrow under and hide in. Most reptiles and amphibians forage exactly on the forest floor. The leaf layer also slows the drying of the soil underneath. The leaves are biodegradable, free of chemicals and can be composted.

The base layer is coconut fibre: 100% natural, biodegradable and moisture-retaining. Its water retention, natural rooting hormones and anti-fungal properties support plant growth. The grain size ranges from coarse to fine, which improves drainage and root aeration.

The leaf layer keeps the base layer slightly moist, which creates a small ecosystem: beneficial organisms break down waste and odour is reduced. The material is heat-treated to reduce bacterial contamination.

Use: spread 5 to 10 cm of the base layer on the terrarium floor and water or mist as needed. Put the decor in place and finally cover the floor with the bamboo leaves. Follow the humidity with a hygrometer and spot clean daily.
